EDF power solutions is committed to developing onshore wind projects in Ireland, recognising the important role these projects will play in enhancing energy security, reducing carbon emissions, and lowering consumers’ electricity bills. Over the past number of years, we have been actively carrying out a range of environmental and other studies at the proposed site of Freneystown Wind Farm.

However, due to a number of factors identified during the development phase, the project has been significantly delayed, and we have been unable to compile a planning application for the project. We have therefore taken the difficult decision that EDF power solutions is not in a suitable position to proceed with the project.

We would like to thank the local community for your engagement and patience as we worked to develop the project.
