Work Experience Programme and Secondary Schools

The Dorenell Ranger work experience scheme allows young people the opportunity to learn about the role of  an environmental ranger.

Engagement in our team projects and community outreach events can help enhances soft skills like communication, teamwork and leadership.

Young people can gain practical experience in activities like wildlife surveys, habitat restoration, and environmental monitoring. This first-hand exposure helps them develop crucial fieldwork skills, such as data collection, species identification, and ecological assessment.

Nature Club

We are hosting a monthly nature club taking place in Dufftown and the surrounding areas. The club will take place on a Saturday morning at the end of each month, April through to October.

The nature club is for children aged 7 to 11 and offers numerous benefits that contribute to their personal, social, and educational development. By engaging with local parks and natural spaces, children can develop a sense of community and learn about local ecosystems and conservation efforts. Each child will receive there own nature journal and will gain skills in bush craft, orienteering and craft based nature activities.

The aim of the club is to give young people the confidence and drive to get active, get outside and embrace nature.
