EDF Renewables UK will once again be a key sponsor for the Border Union Show as locals and visitors flock to Springwood Park, Kelso over 26 and 27 July.
As one of the country’s leading renewable energy developers, EDF Renewables UK prides itself on working closely with local communities and landowners around its wind farm sites, operational and in development, and the Scottish Borders is no different.
EDF Renewables UK operates 36 onshore wind farms across the UK including two in the Scottish Borders – Fallago Rig and Longpark. It also has Cloich Forest, Liddesdale and Dunside wind farms in development in the area.
During the two days of the Border Union Show, visitors to the show are invited to stop by the EDF Renewables UK stand to enjoy refreshments and take part in activities for all the family, including a treasure hunt and a raffle, the proceeds of which will go to a local charity. The team will be on hand to answer any queries visitors might have, as well as showcasing information on the company’s operational and proposed sites in the area.
Speaking in advance of the show, Sarah Dooley, Principal Development Manager for Scotland at EDF Renewables UK, said: “We are delighted to be sponsoring the Border Union show once again this year. The show is one of the most important local events in the summer calendar and our team always enjoys attending and meeting local people and visitors.
“We have a significant presence across the south of Scotland with two operational onshore wind farms and three more at different stages of the planning process. It is important to us to work with communities in which we operate, and we achieve this in a number of different ways, including sponsorship activities, educational and outreach programmes, and attending local events such as this one.

In addition to their attendance at the Border Union show, EDF Renewables UK’s Liddesdale wind farm project team will attend the Holm show in Newcastleton on Saturday 31 August.
