Bandon Battery Storage is a proposed c.25MW battery electricity storage system in Co. Cork

We are proposing to develop a c.25MW battery electricity storage system (BESS) on a 1.6 acre site in the townland of Littlesilver, Bandon.

The proposed site would consist of the BESS, site substation, and cabling connecting it to the existing 110kV Bandon substation. Over the coming months we will be carrying out detailed environmental assessments, including an ecological impact assessment, noise assessments, and landscape and visual assessments.

A drop-in community clinic, to provide further information and answer any questions about the project, was held in December 2025.

A planning application is currently with Cork County Council for consideration and can be viewed here.
