Lackareagh is a proposed c.50MW wind farm to the east of Kilbane in Co. Clare.
Lackareagh Wind Farm is a consented c.50MW project to the east of Kilbane in Co. Clare. It could consist of up to 7 turbines and power more than 35,000 homes.
The proposed site is located in the townlands of Killeagy and Shannaknock. A Community Benefit Fund commensurate with the size of the final project will be established to provide funding for local community initiatives and activities.
The project was granted planning permission by An Coimisiún Pleanála in July 2025, and you can view the details here.
Following the grant of planning permission, the wind farm is expected to be constructed and operational in 2030.
